Define what is being shared
Decide whether the partner is publishing a short excerpt, a separately written summary or the full article. Confirm permission and attribution before distribution. Keep an original source record with the publishing brief.
Make the relationship visible
For duplicate or closely overlapping pages under your control, keep preferred-URL signals consistent. Canonicalization is a search-engine decision informed by signals; an annotation is not a guarantee that a particular version will be selected.
Review the destination
Check the published title, credit, links and surrounding context. A useful distribution agreement should also explain corrections and removals. Do not assume that a syndication partner follows the same update process as your own site.
